Our Founders
Michelle & Ashley Monterrosa
We-Michelle and Ashley Monterrosa—have carried forward a vision for justice that is rooted in our lived experiences as Latine women from a working-class, immigrant family. Our leadership reflects the communities most impacted by policing. 100% of our leadership team is impacted by state violence, we must prioritize the voices of those who have experienced state violence firsthand.
TSMP is grounded in a commitment to intersectionality, ensuring that our decision-making reflects the diverse identities and lived experiences of the communities most affected by police violence. Our leadership includes system-impacted individuals, Black and Brown organizers, and advocates who have experienced housing insecurity, economic instability, and the ripple effects of state violence. We also collaborate with community partners and advisory members who are formerly incarcerated, survivors of police brutality, and advocates for disability justice and LGBTQIA+ rights.
By centering those with firsthand knowledge of systemic harm, TSMP not only demands justice for Sean but also works to dismantle the structures that perpetuate violence, amplify the voices of those who are often silenced, and build lasting alternatives to policing that prioritize care, safety, and community empowerment.
